Instagram still doesn’t have an iPad app in 2022. Instead, customers are forced to pick between a mediocre web experience or an iPhone app. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri addressed the lack of an iPad app in a new question-and-answer session this weekend, and it doesn’t appear like things will change anytime soon.
“I spent a bit of a time on an iPad because I was on a flight, but still no iPad app for Instagram. It would be nice to do, but there’s a lot to do and only so many people, so it hasn’t made the cut. ”
On iPads-Instagram is still active
It’s impossible to know if Instagram is teasing us by refusing to release an iPad app at this stage. It has long been one of the most desired features on the social network, dating back to before Facebook. Zac Hall of 9to5Mac wrote a few years ago.
It makes a lot of sense. Instagram is great for sharing our favorite photographs and videos, and iPads are great for enjoying them. Instagram Stories have become much more entertaining (despite being blatantly ripped off from Snapchat).
To make matters worse, Instagram revealed earlier this year that users can now post to the social network via the web. But the despite having a desktop-class browser, the iPad is excluded. It, while you can publish to Instagram from a PC or Mac, you can’t do so from an iPad.
Thankfully, On iPads-Instagram is still active. One update in iPadOS 15 makes it a little easier to use Instagram and other iPhone-only apps on your iPad. iPhone-only apps can now operate in landscape mode with iPadOS 15, with the scaled-up iPhone app maintaining its portrait layout while rotating like iPad apps.
